So what is wow factor?
To me it’s the patient having a full understanding of what’s happening throughout their dental examination – about the patient knowing exactly what’s happening, listening and understanding exactly what it its you are saying to your nurse.
Often when I train dentists in the art of wow factor examinations they find it really hard. Not because I am asking them to do anything differently clinically, but because I am asking them to change their communication skills during the examination and involve their nurse with this process too.
Speaking the language of BPE 222 313 is not wow factor nor is upper left six MOD, lower right five occusual caries – if this blog was in another language would you understand what I was saying to you?
