Laura loves …. great hospitality
Last week I was at the Ivoclar UK first anniversary of the ICDE – international centre for dental education. 
The last time I received great hospitality was in December with the ITI and then in June with Practice Plan.
BUT Ivoclars event had everyone talking not just the speakers! I overheard delegates in the bathroom on the Friday evening talking about how well they were looked after and had never experienced anything like it.
As soon as I arrived on Friday morning I was excited to see a Pimms tent set up in the car park and a marquee. I thought to myself “this is my kind of event!”
I was taken care of from the moment I arrived and had 3 team members in the lecture theatre with me in case of problems (there were none) Vikki in particular was taking great care and checking I was ok in-between presentations.
There was a magician entertaining everyone, he was very proactive he didn’t wait for people to come to him. He walked around showing people his tricks and making everyone laugh.
Friday lunchtime the catering was great: a BBQ! I had a burger and a hot dog! There were cold drinks and even beers to enjoy (I didn’t have a beer)
Then there was the party: There was a free bar and we all had a jolly good knees up! Drinks, buffet, drinks, tribute bank, drinks then a DJ, dancing and more drinks.
On Saturday the programme continued with further hands on workshops and lectures for the delegates to attend. Most people had sore heads and some couldn’t even face lunch. Personally I couldn’t face a burger so was going to pass on lunch until I saw that we had different caterers and yet again Ivoclar didn’t fail to disappoint! Saturdays lunch was nothing short of perfect hangover food, chicken curry, vegetable curry, pasta bolognaise and chilli con carne!
The day again was flawless and everyone was looked after and had a super time. I already have the dates for next year in my diary (June 28th and 29th 2013) I won’t be missing it, thats how much fun it was as well as a great 2 day learning experience for the delegates and myself!
