Laura Horton is one of the most recognised voices in Treatment Coordination and patient experience within UK dentistry. Known by many as the OG trainer of Treatment Coordination in the UK, she has spent more than two decades helping practices improve communication, elevate patient experience, and increase treatment conversion through operational systems that actually work.
 
But Laura’s expertise was never built in a classroom.
It was built chairside, at reception, in consultations, in management meetings, and over more than 30 years of working directly within dental practices.
Starting her career as a dental nurse, Laura quickly developed a deep understanding of something many practices still struggle with today: patients do not simply buy dentistry, they buy trust, confidence, communication and experience.
 
That understanding became the foundation of her career.
 
Over the last 22 years, Laura has worked extensively in Treatment Coordination, becoming one of the first professionals in the UK to train and implement the role at scale. Over the last 18 years, she has coached, consulted and trained thousands of dental professionals across the UK and Europe, helping practices create more structured patient journeys, stronger team communication and higher levels of treatment acceptance.

In 2024/25, Laura stepped back into practice life as an equal business partner within a squat clinic.
 
Having spent years supporting practices as a consultant, she saw it as an exciting opportunity to fully return to clinic life and implement everything she had spent decades teaching from the inside out.
 
Not from the sidelines.
But as part of the business itself.
She led the development of the digital patient journey, recruited and trained the team, implemented operational systems, and personally stepped back into the Treatment Coordinator role herself.
 
It meant returning to the realities of modern practice life. Leading teams, managing pressure, supporting patients, building culture and implementing systems in real time.
 
And the result was a complete validation of what she had known throughout her career:
